My mom and dad got married. They were legally married for 17 years. They were two people that probably never should've been together, honestly. It was a toxic situation for everyone involved. This is one reason why I don't think simply getting married is an accomplishment. I would consider a happy marriage an accomplishment, though. A real marriage is hard work. If you put in the work and you're happy together, then *that's* an accomplishment. Any two people can choose to sign a marriage license, however.
