Paris Saint-Germain dropped to third place in the Ligue 1, after losing 1-0 at home to Olympique Lyonnais,
due to a goal by Tino Kadioire, on Sunday.
The French champion, whose Brazilian player Neymar sustained an ankle injury in stoppage time,
did not show his form and dedicated the summit to Lille, who beat Bordeaux 2-1 today.
Lille’s score became 29 points from 14 games, leading by goal difference over Lyon, while Saint-Germain fell
to third place with 28 points, affected by the fourth loss this season.
Olympique de Marseille comes fourth with 27 points and has two postponed matches in an exciting conflict in
the competition, given that the difference between or for five teams is only three points.
After winning 5-1 against Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League last week, Saint-Germain struggled
at the start of the Lyon match and only made two chances through Alessandro Florence.
Cadeauire scored the game’s only goal ten minutes before the break with a powerful low shot after
a Carl Tocco-Icambi pass.
The Zimbabwean player became the third Lyon player to score five or more goals in the league this season,
along with Memphis Depay and Toko-Ekambi.
St Germain coach Thomas Tuchel made three changes in the 65th minute, involving Kylian Mbappe,
but the performance did not improve much, but he needed the brilliance of goalkeeper Keylor Navas to
deflect Lucas Pacita’s attempt.
Saint-Germain pressed towards the end but Lyon played in a defensive organization and deserved to emerge
with their fifth successive victory. Neymar was released on a stretcher after seven minutes of injury time after
a violent foul by Thiago Mendez, who was expelled.
